Our Barber program offers extensive hands-on experience to provide you with a complete understanding of the beauty industry.  The program includes hair cutting, styling, color, texture services, nail care, skin care, business development, retail knowledge and the concept of gaining and retaining clients.  The program incorporates theory with extensive practical training.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The 1000 hour Barber course is a program of 31.25 weeks that has instructor-led classroom and clinical training as well as practical hands-on application.  Training encompasses three types of learning: theoretical knowledge, the foundation of the students’ education; practical experience, the application of knowledge; and professional business building skills, vital for the students’ success.  Each phase of the students’ education emphasizes a different combination of learning approaches.  The Barber program is comprised of hair and scalp treatments,  rinses, shaping, styling, chemical waving and relaxing, coloring, facials, skin care, hair removal, manicuring/pedicuring, professional business-building skills in management and career development, and employable skills.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

This program’s objectives are to prepare our students for the state licensing examination in barbering and provide the advanced training that will prepare them to enter into the field of barbering including but not limited to:

  • Hair Stylist

  • Hair Color Specialist

  • Make-Up Artist

  • Manicure – Pedicure Specialist

  • Salon Owner/Manager

  • Retail Sales Specialist
